internship position
Voice Project Internship While Studying at Macquarie University
The Opportunity
-
Voice Project is offering up to 2 students (must be Australian citizens) a paid internship while they complete a degree in psychology or a business‐related degree at Macquarie University. This will be the seventh year we have offered this opportunity, with some of the students from our first six years continuing to work at Voice Project.
-
The number of working hours can be negotiated, although a minimum of 20 hours per week is required over a period of at least 10 months, and hence is not suitable for students completing a degree full‐time or students looking for short‐term work. Preference will be given to students wanting to work more hours over a longer duration.
-
The value of the internship will be based on market rates and negotiated depending on your experience and knowledge.
-
Voice Project is a rapidly growing consulting company that has grown out of a research program at Macquarie University (note, you will be employed through Voice Project, not Macquarie University). We currently have 16 staff, predominantly psychologists, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne. We are headquartered in the corporate "Research Park" on campus at Macquarie University, so you can easily walk between our office and all the facilities on campus. You will be given your own desk and laptop in our office.
-
You will work on projects with corporate clients assessing and improving employee engagement, leadership and service quality, or in a support role for our marketing and media initiatives. If your degree requires work placement, you may be able to count your work at Voice Project towards your placement hours.
-
Pending your performance you may be offered an ongoing position within Voice Project.
How to Apply
-
Contact Echo Fong via email (echo.fong@voiceproject.com.au) or phone our general office (02 8875 2800) expressing your desire to be considered for the internship. You will need to email us a cover letter, your resume and a copy of your academic record. The selection process is competitive ‐ we have always had far more applications than positions, so you will need a strong academic record (e.g., a minimum ATAR of 85, GPA of 3.0 or Hons 2.1) and work experience.
-
After processing your application we will contact a shortlist of applicants to arrange a merit‐based interview and psychometric assessment process. The final selection will be based on your academic record, performance in the assessments and interviews, and perceived fit with the consulting activities of Voice Project. Voice Project reserves the right to choose any student, will not publicly disclose the reasons for any selection, and may select only one student or no students.
Closing date for applications: 20 February 2012
